The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council has provided insights into the Shawwal moon sighting, potentially revealing when Eidul Fitr is likely to take place in Pakistan. According to experts, the Shawwal moon is expected to be formed at 11:21pm on Monday, offering a chance of potential sightings if weather conditions permit.

Council member Khalid Ijaz told Samaa TV that the moon’s age will be at least 19 hours and 14 minutes at the time of its rise, with a maximum lifespan of 19 hours and 50 minutes. Furthermore, Ijaz highlighted specific observations, stating that at sunset on April 9, the moon’s age will measure 19 hours and 18 minutes in Peshawar, providing valuable data for moon sighting enthusiasts.

Meanwhile, the committee prepares for the crucial task of sighting the Shawwal crescent on Tuesday (April 9) in Islamabad. Under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, the committee will convene at the Kohsar Complex to sight the moon.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Maulana Azad will preside over the meeting, which will gather members of the committee alongside officials from the meteorology department, Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco), and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
